Mozilla Representative - Opening Remarks
Firefox 29 has been released on the 29th of April by Mozilla and it’s gaining a market quite a wave of appreciation among Firefox users. Firefox 29 comes with a new interface called "Australis" that features rounded tabs, along with a menu icon in the top right corner. As you might imagine,Doing Good is part of our code therefore Mozilla is committed to making the Web look better for every user. There are a lot of minor tweaks that come with Firefox 29, but the most prominent additions include a new grid-style menu and a Customize Mode.

In support of this global launch, Mozilla Botswana also joined the launch and hosted a party for it's community. However this event gathered lots of passionate open source activists, Developers, Entrepreneurs and to name a few students from all universities across the city.  The launch party composed of many activities related to our community activities, though not limited to the above we also share insights about Firefox OS, Webmakers and Localization

The event started at a very high note with just everyone keen and happy to hear the great news about the latest Firefox. As people didn't want to be left out with the current technology updates, some updated their browsers right away at our booth table.  Throughout the event, we had interactive sessions were participants received Mozilla hampers as token of appreciation for their participation.

Giving out a rapid exposure of Mozilla projects happening in Botswana, Olebile Ditshweu gave an overview of Localization project which our community is currently involved into. However without wasting any time Segolo Machai and Kealeboga Malejane gave their presentations as well on Web-makers and Firefox For Android simultaneously.

As this was a launch party, we did not just end our event so simple; rather Mozilla Botswana organized an interactive dinner session in the evening for folks who were able to secure their spot via a pre-registartion on Eventbrite. The main idea behind this session was to get to know each other both long term volunteers and upcoming volunteers and defining the level of interest for people to join our community. And finally as we wrapped up the closing of the launch party in the evening we all dispersed with lots of enthusiasm and zeal to interact on our upcoming hack-thorn.
